Community & Teachers is a full service, not-for-profit cooperative financial institution that has been serving “Townies” for over 55 years. Founded in 1960 by eight teachers, the Credit Union was initially only able to extend membership if the person was employed by the school department. We now operate under a Community charter opening the possibility of membership to anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in a variety of Rhode Island counties, as well as any of their family members.
Making a decided difference in our members’ lives is what we strive to do. Whether it be working together on a mortgage or helping to grow your business, the Community & Teachers Federal Credit Union is the right choice for you and your financial needs.
We educate our members with one-on-one consultations with all of our credit union representatives. If you need help understanding your credit report or navigating the home buying process, we’re here as your advisor!
Credit Unions seek to bring about human and social development. We are actively involved in our communities, supporting charities, community events, youth & sports, and higher education aspirations of both teens and adults looking to further their education. We don’t do it because we have to, we do it because it’s the right thing to do.
